Susan J. Cherner has been practicing family law, exclusively, in Pennsylvania since 1975, concentrating her practice in Delaware and Chester counties. After almost thirty-five years of litigating divorce, custody, support and many other family issues, she continues to believe that the preferred option for most parties is an amicable resolution of their disputes. Her practice includes divorce, alimony, child support, child custody, prenuptial agreements, co-habitation agreements, post-divorce cases and related matters. She has a particular interest in finding creative solutions in order to help divorcing parties successfully negotiate amicable settlements.
Ms. Cherner is a member of the Family Law Sections of the Delaware County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. In 2005, she served as President of the Delaware County Bar Association's Family Law Section, and in 2003, she was the recipient of the Section's Eric Turner Award. She has served as a judge pro tem in the Family Law Division of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, and in 2007 and 2008, she was named a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer" by Philadelphia Magazine. She has an AV rating, the highest rating awarded by The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating system, based on the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary. She has been a panelist and presenter in family law programs.
Ms. Cherner graduated from Villanova Law School and received her undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College.
